Using Google Keep For preparing an Itinerary

Let me start to say about Google Keep(This is definitely not a paid post – Just writing about my experience) and the story of how things got easier. Nowadays if I don’t take a list to the supermarket of what I need I forget few items and so I used to write a list in paper and take a pen with me to tick the stuff. Since Google keep has been introduced it is the best ever app I could think off. I type a list of things to be got in supermarket and when you go the supermarket you can tick the things you have put in the cart. Google Keep came in handy with our itinerary planning as well.

I finished in preparing the list of places to visit and sorted which attraction needed tickets to be booked earlier. Me and my hubby slowly started booking tickets. The interesting point to be noted in U.K. is the advance booking of tickets included a time slot. This made the planning of the itinerary a bit more difficult. With the tickets booked and the timings known for some attractions I planned the day to day list of places to visit with the idea of how long to spend in a particular attraction and the opening timings. My hubby was so keen in adding timings as well and I was not so keen about this as we have never done this way before. Let me show you the planning of the days.

EDINBURGHThis was the plan we made for Edinburgh. The plan started from Saturday afternoon and was until monday evening. As we left to Liverpool via train on tuesday morning. The train tickets also we got it booked.

We booked the Edinburgh Castle tickets to beat the queue and it was few pounds less when you book online rather than you get it there. We didn’t book for Royal Yatch Brittania as it was the same price at the counter and also there was not much crowd expected there. The Camera Obscura tickets were also not available online. Need to go get there directly. This attraction was the one opened late in the evening until 8 or 9.

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool – The tickets for Mercy ferry and Anfield Stadium Tour were booked before hand. Princess Road Synagogue is one of the few Jewish community syangogue. There was a private tour to see the inside of the synagogue. I called them to book but they had a celebration on tuesday and so they could book only on 11am on wednesday. But Anfield tour gets over only at 10 am so we decided to give it a try if we have time. We had the train booked from Liverpool to London at 2:15pm on wednesday.

LONDONIn London we booked the tickets for Westminster Abbey, Tower of London and London Bridge exhibitions seperately and it didn’t require any time slot to be there. There were packages of 4 attractions or three or 2 which can be booked together for some price reduction. We booked London Eye, Shrek’s Adventure, Sea Life Aquarium and Madame Tussaud’s together with a time slot(15 mins) for entering Madame Tussaud’s. London Eye River Crusie required a time slot and that tickets were also booked for wednesday afternoon.

With all the tickets booked in advance now all of us were awaiting the date of travel……….

I hope you also will await for my next post to see waht happened to the first day of the trip. Did we land in Edinburgh on Saturday or not?????? ………… Just wait for the next post to read the unexpected twist in the trip. Until then stay happy …………
